Replace with rejoice
1 Peter:12-14 – Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed.
The devil will never like your relationship with God. The closer you get to Him, and to be becoming who He has called you to be, the devil will get more and more annoyed. He’ll test you and try to distract you from where you’re heading.
The first thing he will do is fill your mind with things that shouldn’t be there. He’ll place doubt, worries and anxieties.
But just before you begin freaking out, the great thing about being in relationship with God is that He is greater. There is no one more powerful than God in Heaven and He’s on your side! That’s what I love about this verse – Peter tells us to rejoice in God just as much as the devil places sufferings in our lives.
So whatever comes your way, rejoice in God despite the obstacles. Rejoice in Him because of the obstacles.
Rejoicing and praising God will fill your mind with God-like thinking. It will replace the negativity that the devil has put there with Heavenly positivity. You are blessed because you know God.
