The book 1 Timothy in the Bible is a letter that Paul wrote to Timothy. Paul in a sense is Timothy’s spiritual mentor. At the start of the letter he calls him his ‘true son in faith’. He’s offering up everything he has learned in being a leader of a church, giving his best advice to Timothy. In chapter 6, Paul advises Timothy to pursue righteousness.
Being righteous is written throughout the Bible, particularly Proverbs.
The thing about being righteous is that it’s not something that you can earn or deserve. It’s a way of life. Being righteous is a gift that comes from simply trusting in God and knowing God.
When you know who God is and what He can do, you become fearful of Him. In a good way. When you have the fear of the Lord, you are able to live for Him. When you live for Him, you must trust Him.
When you trust the Lord, you are right with the Lord, i.e righteous.
Start your day being right with God. Read His word and speak His word over your life. Pray to Him to guide you in being righteous. In everything you do, put God first. Pursue God and pursue righteousness and watch everything else fall into place.
