You won’t grow weary
Isaiah 40:31 – But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
I’m the type of person who gets overwhelmed very quickly (at least I admit it, I guess?!). When life gets busy and responsibilities get thrown my way, all I need is for one little thing to go wrong in order for me to slowly crumble to pieces. That’s partly why I didn’t last in my teaching career. My longest running responsibilities have been my blog writing and being a youth leader with Bradley at our church.
Now, if I’m totally honest I know from the bottom of my heart that I have kept to those responsibilities not from my own strength, but from God’s. If He wasn’t in these aspects of my life, my own weaknesses would never have allowed me to come so far and be so dedicated.
I love that I have had no choice but to hope in the Lord. And that is how I just know that this verse speaks nothing but the truth. When you put all your hope in Him, your strength will be made new. You won’t grow weary, but instead you will soar higher than ever before. There’s nothing more powerful than letting go of your own strength and relying fully on His.
What is it that is making you tired? What is your heart, mind and soul worn out from? Ask God to step into that area of your life and take over. Allow Him to lead the way and renew your strength.
Are you wanting to dedicate yourself to attending church or serving in church again? Do you see it as an impossibility because of your busy week schedule or because of how difficult it is to get there?
Place your hope in the Lord and He will make a way. You won’t grow weary in His house when you’re serving Him and His people. He will renew your strength every single Sunday morning. He will make the difficult easy. Just take the step of putting your hope in Him and watch what He does.
PS. Happy half-a-year of devotionals!
