Make room for the miracle
I remember a few years ago, I was praying for christian friends. I didn’t have any close friends in my life who shared my faith and it was a massive struggle for me. I prayed day after day, month after month, wondering why God wasn’t putting any faith-filled people in my life.
It took me a shamefully long time to realise that I didn’t have any of those friends because I never planted myself in a church. Whenever I did go to church (which was pretty rare in itself, as I had no friends – how ironic), I didn’t stick around long enough afterwards to actually meet any new people.
Psalm 37:23 – the Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him, though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His mighty hand.
God will show you the way to go, but you need to do the walking. You can pray for your miracle, but if you don’t start making room in your life for the miracle to take place – how do you expect God to work in your life? It’s like praying to catch a fish but never going fishing.
He is a God of the impossible, that’s definitely true. But you need to play your part too.
Pray for that miracle you need to happen in your life, and then make room for God to do what He does best.
