Psalm 28:7 – The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
I’ve been meaning to join the gym for a while now (I’m thinking next month…), because to be totally honest, I’m really weak. I tend to start a work-out regime for a few days, then other things will distract me and I end up totally forgetting I ever intended to become fit. Becoming physically strong doesn’t just happen from one day at the gym. Physical strength comes from regular, meaningful exercise.
The same goes for spiritual strength. When we say the Lord is my strength, we need to exercise that belief. We need to have regular, meaningful time within His word to fully understand and believe that He is our strength. We need daily reminders. We need to be prayerful and in constant communication with Him so that our faith can strengthen and grow.
Make that step today to start your exercise regime with God. Dig into the Bible and start a plan for how you’re going to exercise and strengthen your faith. Watch how your world changes when you realise the fullness of the Lord being your strength.
