Isaiah 40:31a – but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.
Every so often, Bradley takes my car to work and lets me drive his new fancy car. I love it, but I’m still getting used to it. Like for example, last week I was driving home from Oxford at 1am and I just casually glanced down at the dashboard. My jaw dropped when I realised that I was really, really, REALLY low on petrol. The pointer was literally on the number 0.
I was totally frustrated that the car had given me no indication at all that I was low on petrol. My car beeps and beeps and beeps. I knew that I had no time to waste in getting to a petrol station. The only one I knew of was at least a 15 minute drive away.
Those 15 minutes were probably the longest, most stress-inducing 15 minutes of my life. I was convinced the car was going to come to a stand still at any point. Fortunately, I made it to the petrol station in time. I cannot explain the relief I felt driving away with a full tank.
Maybe you’re feeling the same way about your life. You don’t know if you have the strength to take you where you need to go. You’re not sure if you can make it in life. Your fuel tank is running low and you need new strength to carry on.
What if I told you that trusting in God is the best way to renew your strength? Placing all your hope and all your faith in Him and His promises will give you the second wind you need to carry on. When you have nothing left, He’s ready to give you everything. When you need a miracle to turn your world around, He’s right there to provide.
You’re not at the end, my friend. You’re at the beginning of something new and exciting, and God is going to mount you on His wings, taking you to places you never even dreamed of going.
