Saved in order to
Titus 3:3-8 (Paul’s letter of advice to Titus)
It wasn’t so long ago that we ourselves were stupid, stubborn, going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. But when God, our kind and loving Saviour God, stepped in, he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Saviour Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there’s more to come – an eternity of life! You can count on this.
Later on Paul continues to tell Titus that people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good. He says that we have been saved in order to do good.
If you’re reading this today – do you believe that Jesus Christ has saved you? Are you walking through your days knowing that you are saved? Redeemed? Forgiven?
Jesus wants us to know and truly believe that we are saved. He wants us to walk away from our past, and walk into our future doing what is good. He wants us devote ourselves daily to doing what is right. We need to be the Jesus in our every-day activities. We need to seek Him everywhere we go, praying that He shows us what He needs us to do next.
Never give up on doing what is good. You are saved – in Christ you are free, in order to do what is good.
