Alive in Him
Romans 6:13-14 – but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
We tend to carry our past on our shoulders like a heavy weight. Or sometimes we even feel like we can’t fully move forward with our lives because of the chains holding us back. But in Romans, Paul tells us otherwise.
He says that because of what Jesus Christ did on that cross, we have been born again. Our sins were left on the cross that day and they have no hold over us anymore. Our mistakes, weaknesses and heavy baggage have been buried.
We are free and more importantly, we’re alive! We should be living every day as if we have been resurrected, from death to life. Imagine how different your life would be if you came back from the dead? If you had that second chance at living? Well, you do! Make the most of it.
Paul tells us to offer ourselves as an instrument to Him. We’re no longer slaves to sin. We’re living under grace, which means that we can offer ourselves to God to be used! He can use us for His glory. He can use us in His great, wonderful plan.
So break free of those chains holding you down, and leave the heavy weight right where you are. Walk in freedom towards Him, the One who died so that you wouldn’t have to. Be alive in Him, filled to the brim with His grace.
