1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
God never promises an easy life. In fact, the Bible warns us multiple times that as followers of Christ we will struggle, we will face hardships.
Giving thanks and praying in all circumstances – specifically the difficult ones – can be hard. Sometimes it doesn’t even cross our minds to give thanks or to pray. Sometimes we can be so rooted in, so focused on our struggle that we entirely forget about God. Our problems are too big for us to see past them and focus on Jesus.
I want to encourage you today to use your problems as a passion to pray. May your problems ignite a fire in you to pray even harder and expect even more from God. Let whatever struggles you are facing make you more passionate about Jesus.
Thank God for what He has already done in your life and thank Him in advance for what He is yet to still do in your life. Declare greatness in your situation. Expect God’s love and peace to fill your heart in whatever you are going through. Pray passionately for His favour to pour into your life. And then, thank Him for it.
