He will direct you
Proverbs 3:6 – Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
Have you ever taken part in that ‘team bonding’ exercise where you have to trust your partner to direct you when you are blind-folded? I don’t know about you, but I really struggle with that. I feel the need to put my hand in front of me to make sure that I don’t walk into anything. I completely slow down because my partner might miss something and I could trip up. I’ll ask for regular updates on my progress and sometimes question whether they are actually looking.
That exercise is a bit like our relationship with God. In this verse, it’s basically saying to trust God with your steps. Have faith that He’s looking to where you’re heading. Trust that He won’t let you trip up, and if you were perhaps to stumble, you would know that He’s there to catch you.
Faith is having hope for what you don’t see. Nobody knows their tomorrow. We don’t know what our future holds for our lives, but if we are to have a healthy relationship with God, we need to trust His will and His purpose. We need to lean entirely on Him, believing that Him directing our steps is better than us directing our own.
