I lack nothing
Psalm 23:1-4 – The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
John 10:11 – “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep”.
Jesus is the shepherd, and we are the sheep.
As long as we are with our shepherd, we are protected and kept safe. We are never left alone. We don’t have to be afraid. The shepherd will guide us everywhere we go, making sure we are rested and fed.
Too often we worry about things that are out of our control – like our income, our popularity, our health, our relationship status. But God has it sorted, He has a plan! He is already guiding us and protecting us from the unknown. All we have to do is stick with our shepherd. Listen for His voice, and trust Him when His rod and His staff direct you in a different direction.
The Lord is our shepherd, and because of that we lack nothing. We don’t need anything or anyone else.
