Word of Life
Psalm 1:2-3 – Blessed is the one whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.
There’s a reason why God’s word is also known as the word of life. It isn’t just a term that’s used to make it sound cute – it has depth behind it.
I started rooting myself in the Bible November of last year. I obviously read my Bible before then, but I wasn’t reading it daily or properly studying it. I read what I felt like reading when I felt like reading it. But since November, my world has shifted. Being in the word every day and reading different books of the Bible has opened my eyes and changed my heart.
It’s a feeling that I can’t describe other than alive. I can almost feel the vibrancy of His life that has been breathed into the different areas of my life. It has changed the way I think, talk, love and work. It hasn’t made me perfect by any means, but it’s made me see Jesus in everything.
It has been a daily reminder of Who I’m living for – helping me take my eyes off of my own feet and focused on His face. The moment that happens, everything else seems to fall into place.
Root yourself in His word and watch how the flowers in your life begin to blossom and show colours that you never even knew existed. Watch how the branches grow tall and strong, weathering every storm.
