The rate at which this month has flown by is slightly terrifying. I’m struggling to comprehend how the days have managed to pass that fast?! Is it just me?
January has been an interesting month. It has been filled with both highs and lows, a few closed doors and a handful of new opportunities. I have truly loved writing my Daily Devotionals, and I really hope you have enjoyed reading them too. For this whole month I never managed to write any Friday Favourites blog posts (my favourite posts to write, as you probably already know). So in honour of the 4 Fridays I missed this month, here is one big blog post filled with all the things I have been loving in January.
Revlon – Lip Butter in 001 Pink Truffle (£7.99)
This is an old friend of mine. One that I forgot I owned for a while, but it has managed to resurface in my lip drawer this month. This is such a beautiful lip-colour for winter. It’s a deep red, with the tiniest amount of shimmer added to it. I find Revlon Lip Butter’s the perfect combination between moisturising and non-sticky, as well as giving off enough colour. It does it’s job really well, especially considering it’s generous price.
Francine Rivers – Leota’s Garden
So we all know that I’m madly in love, border-line obsessed with all of Francine Rivers’ novels. I have actually kept myself from reading this particular book for years. I knew it existed and I knew it was going to be incredible. But I wanted to save this moment.
I’m forcing myself to read it really, really slowly because I can’t bare the thought of this story being over. I’m in love with every single character, all of the wisdom and the whole story-line. I’m not going to tell you too much more, as I’m planning on writing a book review on it once I’ve finished it.
PS, for any fellow Francine Rivers lovers – buy her books used from Amazon. SO much more affordable.
L’Occitane – Mini Hand Creams
Okay these hand creams look huge on that photo. They’re actually mini-sized – probably the same size as my pinky. I received these as a gift from Bradley’s mum, Heather for Christmas. I have always been a huge fan of everything L’Occitane, but never actually owned one of their hand creams. Now I have two! I keep the ‘Delightful Rose’ scented one in my handbag and the ‘Bouquet De Vanille’ on my desk. They both smell incredible – really soft and sweet scents. I’m going to be distraught when I’ve finished them. I have no choice but to buy myself a full-sized one when that day comes. How I’ll choose between these scents however, I have no idea.
Topshop – Skirt
This is another gift. Bradley bought this for me in the Boxing Day sales. It was originally priced at £36, but the sale reduced it to £18. I am head over heels in love with this skirt. It’s so flattering (it kind of holds everything in, if that makes sense). I wear it with a white cami and thick black tights.
I’m not sure if it’s still for sale in Topshop, but they do now have a very similar skirt but in pink. It’s really, really pretty. I’m going to wait for the next sale to grab that one.
Mac – Eyeshadow Palette.
I have actually owned this eye-shadow palette for quite a while. I used to be obsessed with it, but then when I got the Urban Decay Naked Palette, I kind of forgot this one existed. It’s only recently, when I was looking for something smaller to pack for a weekend away that I rediscovered it.
It’s the perfect size with such cute shades. I love the first four shadows (on the left hand side). Together they create a lovely neutral eye-look.
Unfortunately Mac don’t sell this palette anymore and I can’t find the names of the individual colours 🙁
Charlotte Tilbury – The Classic Eye Powder Pencil
I treated myself to this eye pencil last week whilst in Birmingham. There’s a story behind it – Bradley bought me one for Christmas 2014. I fell in love. I used it daily. We were best friends. And then I went on holiday to Corfu where it mysteriously and tragically disappeared. I searched high and low, but it was nowhere to found. It left a large, gaping hole in my heart and my eyes without any definition.
So this month when I was paid some money for some freelance work I did, I knew that it was time to invite this eye pencil back into my life. And what a joy it has been.
This pencil is so easy to use. I have the brown one, to complete my natural make-up look. It’s good for both the water-line and the upper-lid line. It’s smudge-able and it’s durable. It’s everything a good eye pencil should be.
