I am so excited about what I’ve just discovered. Have you heard about illustrated faith? Me neither until about a week ago and I haven’t got it out of my head since.
I imagine two types of people as they read the rest of this post 1) the super creative, arty farty people who get so excited they start immediately, and 2) the people who pretend they didn’t read it and scroll on. A few months ago I would totally have been a number 2 person, but I’ve finally embraced my not-arty-at-all self and I’m just going to do this for fun. If you’re a number 2, you’re very welcome here.
So I don’t know how long this has been a thing for, but people are making their bibles pretty!!! It’s called bible-journaling and/or Illustrated Faith. I’ll insert some photos so that you know what I’m going on about (to make it really, really clear… These are not mine. I wish with all my heart they were. But I believe in a God of miracles, so who knows – maybe one day I will achieve this. He parted the sea once, right? Hehe).
How cute?! So I was thinking that this is something me and you can do together!
The whole point of Illustrated Faith is to focus on a passage of the bible, and then obviously release your inner creative self. So every week (I’m thinking every Thursday), I’m going to post a page of my bible. I’ll write about what I’ve learned, what I did etc. You are all going to have to bare with me – mine are definitely not going to look like the photos above. But even if mine looks like a rainbow threw up on it, I will have still spent time on the Word, which is essentially what it’s all about. I’ll report back to you all what I’ve learned and we’ll all just have so much fun.
If you want to do this with me then yay!
I got myself a bible journal from Amazon – http://www.amazon.co.uk/Holy-Bible-International-Journalling-Charcoal/dp/144474562X/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1426790449&sr=8-5&keywords=bible+journal
And I’m just going to use whatever arts & crafts I can find in the house (thankfully my mum went through a phase of thinking she was the next Picasso, so I think we’re more than stocked up).
If you want to do more research on Illustrated Faith, this is a great website – http://www.illustratedfaith.com/
Also, the hashtag (#illustratedfaith) on Instagram comes up with really cute things other people have done.
Hope you’re as excited as me! Happy Thursday, everyone.
