I’m having one of those days where I don’t feel good enough. You know? Those days where you feel like you have no purpose and everything you touch will shrivel up and die in front of you. I’m having one of those.
So whilst I was sitting at my pity party (unfortunately there’s no chocolate in our house, so I couldn’t even attempt to eat away my sorrows) I decided that I need to get out of this slump ASAP before this slump consumes me.
So here I am, writing this post to you but in the meantime I’m preaching to myself.
Let’s start with the basics.
God says you are:
His treasure (Deuteronomy 7:6). The apple of his eye (Psalm 17). Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Justified and Redeemed (Romans 3:24). His Friend (John 15:1-5). His Masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10). Accepted (Romans 15:7). His Beloved (Colossians 3:12). Chosen by Him (Ephesians 1:4).
Okay that list does actually go on further, but my fingers are starting to ache. You see what I’m getting at though, right? God thinks you’re pretty amazing. He made you Himself, and clearly he likes his own handiwork. He made you the way you are for a reason!
He’s also put you where you are for a reason. In the Bible, the book of Esther (you should read it, it’s short and juicy) shows us a perfect example of God putting someone in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. Esther followed God in faith. She didn’t know what was going to happen – any sane human would have told her that she’d be killed but God knew what He was doing. He worked his magic and tada – Esther is the hero of the story.
All you need to know is that you are enough and you have a purpose. God has this dream for you and he’s placed it in your little heart. Follow Him in faith. If He got you this far, I’m pretty sure He can get you to exactly where you need to be.
Go chase those dreams, the One who made you has your back.
