YAY for Wednesday!
It was my best friend’s wedding last Saturday, which worked out very well for Bradley and me (inspiration wise) as we now have just under 2 months to plan the rest of our wedding. Katie shared a top-bridal-tip with me last week and said that it’s absolutely crucial that I buy myself a wedding planner journal. I told her ‘oh, I just file and note everything in my mind’, to which she laughed and wished me good luck. That scared me. The first thing I did on Monday morning was buy this planner from Marks and Spencer (£10).
I have only owned it for 3 days so I don’t feel as though I am able to give too much of an opinion of it just yet. But if I totally love it, I’ll write a little review for you and show you some snaps of the inside.
This week my mum and I took it upon ourselves to start thinking decor. If you’ve been reading for a while, you’ll know that the wedding reception is taking place in a barn, which means we’re automatically going for the rustic/garden/farm/barn theme. We picked up a couple cough, several, cough, things. My mum has forbidden me from showing you everything because apparently I’m ruining the fun for our wedding guests. I promise I’ll show you everything after the wedding (clearly I love you more than she does).
So here my friends, is a taster of some of our wedding decor for the big day… All of these decoration pieces will be dotted around the barn – a few around the guest book/present table and a few on the bar.
How cute is this watering can? When I showed this to my dad, he looked a bit confused. I had to first of all remind him of our barn theme, and then explain that my mum is going to place some pretty flowers so that they poke out of the hole to complete the look. CUTE, right?! We found this in M&S.
I have agreed to donate it to my mother after the wedding so that she can actually use it as a watering can (she has a gardening obsession).
When we found the watering can, we also spotted this pack of pastel lanterns. They’re a bit bigger than what the photo is portraying. They can all fit a tea light candle inside. The colours of these drew me in! I think they’re just so pretty. I’m tempted to buy another set (£18), but I’m not sure if the wedding budget will allow it. Ideally, I would love to have one of these on each of the tables, but that would mean buying another two sets… I may have to do an eBay search for similar ones.
And lastly, I have been on a frame hunt. We have had the idea to dot childhood photos around the wedding. We want to place photos of us at similar ages (i.e. one of my at my christening, one of him at his) here and there. These frames are from Home Sense (my new found love), and they cost £3.99 each – bargain! I’ll be revisiting the shop over the next two months to see if they get any more in stock…
