Without even meaning it to be, this week has been super productive in terms of wedding planning. Yesterday Mum and I went to my final dress fitting (eek!), followed by a spur-of-the-moment shopping trip to find a dress for my flower girl.
My little cousin, Mia is going to be my flower girl. She’s 4 years old and she’s pretty much my mini-me.
She’s a princess and the world must know it. So in honour of her royalty, it was pretty much mandatory that I found her the perfect, princess flower girl dress.
As I walked into Debenhams yesterday and laid eyes on this dress, I instantly knew it was the one. My mum gave the final seal of approval. We could both picture her in it (good mood or bad mood), looking really, really, really cute.
It’s from the Ted Baker kid’s range and it cost £42. From my research, I quickly discovered that it’s difficult to find a pretty flower girl dress for less than £50, so I was quite happy to part with my £42 for this.
The skirt of the dress is a good amount of poofy – it has that princess vibe to it, but Mia won’t be looking like a marshmallow either. I particularly love the back of the dress. It has three rose gold heart buttons placed at the center of the back. Simplistic, yet adds something really special to it.
We also found an adorable pair of shoes in Debenhams, right next to the Ted Baker kid’s range. I believe the brand they are from is called ‘bluezoo’. They cost £16, which in my opinion is slightly on the pricey side for some kid’s shoes, but all the other shoes were more expensive and less cute. So I bit the bullet and bought the cute pair to match the cute dress.
Mia hasn’t seen the outfit yet, but we’re having a try-on session this Saturday. My fingers and toes are crossed, hoping that she loves it all as much as I do.
We’re getting her a white headband with some cute flowers attached. My florist is going to make her a ‘flower wand’, which she can twirl around (and probably hit people with). We’re also planning on making her a little white basket with some confetti inside that she can throw about after the ceremony.
She’s going to be a 10/10 on the cute scale isn’t she?!
