After a lot of umm-ing and ahh-ing, I have decided that I’m making a Wedding page on my blog. I imagine my blog readers split into two groups about this decision. There’s a group of you who are thinking yay, let’s hear it all! And the other group are thinking reeeeeeeallyyyyyy?
I’m sorry if you’re in the latter, but I just had to do it. Planning the wedding has very quickly (perhaps too quickly…) become a big part of my life and I just have to write about it. I really love the thought of being able to look back at these posts from when Bradley and I planned our big day. So for those who aren’t interested at all, I promise to only be posting wedding related things on Wednesdays – so be sure to ignore anything from me on this particular day of the week.
It’s been almost three weeks that Bradley proposed and I have truly loved every second of engagement so far. I already own far too many wedding magazines and my wedding board on Pinterest has quickly become an addiction. Whenever anyone asks me how it feels to be engaged, I always reply saying “IT’S SO MUCH FUN”.
What have we planned so far?
From the start we already knew the exact week that we would like to have our wedding. We have our eye on the Friday, but we’re lenient to the Thursday or Saturday depending on what works out cheapest/easiest for whatever venue we decide on.
The Guest List
Without a doubt this has so far been the biggest struggle. It’s really difficult to narrow down the people we know and decide who is invited to the big day. Every guest we invite adds to the total lump sum, so obviously we can’t invite everyone. After being fairly brutal, we managed to narrow our guest list down to 80 people for the day and 120 people for the evening. Although knowing us, this will probably (definitely) change.
We haven’t decided on a venue just yet. As the days go on, this task is proving to get harder and harder. We found a place that would really work. It comes with a beautifully small price tag and it’s super practical (which makes my mother more than happy). It’s not the dream venue but it’s half way there.
If we were to get that particular venue we would have the wedding ceremony in a parish church in my hometown. The church is beautiful.
This by far is the most fun part of the wedding (apart from the whole marrying and spending the rest of my life with Bradley, obviously…). I went for a wedding dress appointment last week and I loved every second. I have my next appointment in a few days, yay! Okay, admittedly the dresses are slightly more expensive than what I thought they would be so we’ve had to slightly adjust that section of our budget spreadsheet. But the dress I have in mind is just perfection…
I’ll tell you about those another time – hehe.
